Our Mission and Ministry

Mission Statement

Handle on the Arts desires to develop and distribute curriculum that is specifically designed for homeschool families. This curriculum provides an exciting survey of the fine arts, including, art, music, drama, and architecture. Students using this curriculum will have thorough understanding of the visual and performing arts, be exposed to important cultural moments, and have an appreciation for the fine arts that completes a well rounded education.

Our Ministry
Handle on the Arts considers our products to be a ministry to Christian homeschool families. Homeschoolers are gifted educators and their commitment to provide excellence in education is unsurpassed. There does, however, continue to be a vacuum for many homeschoolers in the area of fine arts. Handle on the Arts strives to provide the tools needed to overcome this vacuum and embrace the fine arts as essential to any well rounded education.

For every Christian, there is some area that causes us to marvel at the wonder of our great God. For many, it is the beauty that He has created in the world. For others, it is the complexity of the human form. For the creators of Handle on the Arts, it is the beauty and power of Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony or Van Gogh’s Starry Night. These and countless other human creations, magnify the power of God with their beauty and wonder. Our desire is to help others understand and appreciate the arts so that they will become more fully aware of the majesty of God. We believe that in understanding and appreciating the arts, children will become more passionate, energetic and attuned to their emotions. These qualities are essential in teaching our children to be a light in a dark world.
